Habitat under threat
In "On the edge" (August 20) Dr. Raman Sukumar has highlighted the battery of dangers that confront wild elephants. While development projects like roads, dams, and mining have minimised forest cover, poaching continues to be a phenomenal threat. Unless immediate measures are put in place, the elephant will be an endangered species.
