ALL ABOUT CRICKET

PHOTO: SHIV KUMAR PUSHPAKAR

KAPIL DEV equals Cricket. In Mumbai for the launch of a photography exhibition, cricketing legend Kapil Dev found himself talking what else but cricket. It was obvious that Dev still has more than just passion for the game. When asked to comment on the hype that surrounds the game, he said: "There is no escape. It's all over on TV, radio and it follows me everywhere." About the Indian team's performance, Dev said that it wasn't as if the players were not focused but, "the media talks about everything else but cricket when it comes to the players." According to Dev, the game was glamorous and the players are all "stars in their own right — gifted at that." And though he's not actively involved his presence is enough to send onlookers into a frenzy.
