Source of inspiration
This refers to "Healing touch" (December 17). Vishwanath Ingles's initiatives to provide succour to leprosy patients deserve wholesome praise. The man's persistent efforts in making the support systems from the government and society to work for the leprosy afflicted are laudable and unparalleled. His steely resolve is extraordinary and indeed worthy of emulation.

When society sees leprosy patients as a cursed lot, it is heartening that there are still some people like Vishwanath Ingle. That he managed to establish the rehabilitation centre single-handedly speaks volumes about his concern for the leprosy patients. The government and other organisations must come forward to help him.

The article shows the courage and determination with which Vishwanath Ingle led a life of selfless service to society, despite facing many adversities. At a time when people with leprosy were treated as untouchables, he has fought for their rights, got them suitable jobs and made them economically independent. Hats off to Ingle, who is a source of great inspiration to many.
