Timely warning

Kalpana Sharma's "Think of the mother"(March 11) comes as a timely warning to protect the girl child and expectant women. The increasing incidence of female infanticide and sex selective abortion in a country supposedly growing at an impressive rate is sad. As the author pointed out, the need of the hour is for a vigorous campaign agaisnt such practices and stringent action against those who facilitate them.
