Long overdue
IT'S a long overdue honour. Designer RAJESH PRATAP SINGH, one of the best but most reclusive designers on the Indian fashion circuit, has been asked to show his collection at the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Show. And though he is not usually part of this circus, Singh feels that the presence of such shows "not only gets designers to work in a time-frame season after season, but it also enhances the status of the fashion industry overall." While Singh is, as yet, clueless about what his clothes for the show will look like, he is happy that the organisers have not "put any pressure on me." In keeping with his philosophy, the clothes will be clean cut, symmetrical and, of course, well finished. Now that's some thing that others in the field could take a cue from. Meanwhile Singh is waiting for inspiration to strike.
