Health education

Kalpana Sharma's article "Survival tools" (April 8) was timely. The very term `sex education' seems to trigger excitement and panic among parents and the politicians. Since sexual hygiene and education is only a part of the general health and hygiene, it may be renamed as `Health education', to be imparted by doctors from standard V onwards. The doctors can give tips about health and hygiene, good nutrition, need for physical exercise and sports and also about the reproductive systems at the appropriate standards in a friendly environment.
