Back in the news

REMEMBER actor ZARINA WAHAB who shot to fame with her earthy, girl-next-door roles in films like "Chitchor" and "Gharonda"? Well Wahab's finally back in circulation in tinsel town with her role on the small screen sitcom "Virrudh" where she plays a much older woman. The second reason that seems to have raised eyebrows in the industry is her reported statement on her husband's misdemeanours with another young actress. Wahab, reacting to her new role, said that she had no problem playing an older woman. "I don't wish to be portrayed as a grandmother but growing by 20 odd years is fine by me." She insists that the reason she does only a few roles is because she has "nothing to prove. I spend my time at home and I'm happy". Asked about her husband and the ruckus created over his alleged treatment of another actor, Wahab shrugged and retorted, "I don't really want to talk about this. I have no problem, so why should others? I guess I'm a strong woman after all."
