Life after Tulsi
SHE has to be the most talked about bahus of India. And it’s not easy stepping into her self-righteous shoes. But finally there is an end to an era. Even as Balaji Films, responsible for the creation of Tulsi Virani alias SMRITI IRANI decided t
o do away with their star creation , Indian TV viewers and the media went into an overdrive on the possible resurrection of the character or turn the popular soap would take. However the lady who admits that she has today become who she is due to the character says there is more to life than being Tulsi. Irani said, “I am Smriti because of Tulsi. She gave me personality. Let’s hope she rests in peace.” She added that there would be no reincarnations because the serial has now moved beyond Tulsi. Asked if she felt emotionally drained after so many years of playing the perfect bahu, Irani said “I’m at this point very involved with my production company. We have all to take on different roles in life.” Having acquired a huge fan base as Tulsi, Irani admitted that it would take some effort to step into another high profile role. Meanwhile the knives are already out for the new actor who steps into Tulsi’s role for now.
