SIGHTINGS

Talent search

Like all MNCs former tennis champ-turned-Hollywood producer, ASHOK AMRITRAJ, has finally set his sights on the Indian market. So with the help of a new TV programme, which he is mentoring, Amritraj hopes to flush out some “real talent”. & #8220;I wished to do something here after all these years. It could be finding a director from anywhere — Thiruvananthapuram to Bihar — and giving him a platform to realise his talent.” said Amritraj.

While he continues to live the high life in the U.S., he claims that India pulls him back. “I’m grounded here. My parents live here and it is important for me that my children know where I grew up. India rejuvenates me and takes me away from Hollywood, which is more a state of mind.” He added that, in India, the “human touch was strong whereas in America technology has taken over”.

While he considers Indian women as “beautiful”, he’s not willing to comment on any one. For him, it’s the timeless beauties like Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly. “Eventually,” said Amritraj “it’s a matter of personal preference.”
