Quick entertainment

The T20 format is more of a ‘chance’ game than a mind game. There cannot be any game plan. You just go out and play and leave everything to dame luck! But, the shorter version of the game seems to have changed cricket forever. It is more pulsating and livelier and no wonder, it needs young blood. The champion juvenile Team India did win the World Cup because the team depended on chance and luck always. Maintaining consistency for teams would be difficult in this format.

K. Chidanand Kumar,

Bangalore

There is no charm in Twenty20 cricket. It does not bring out the talent of cricketers. One cannot find strokeplay in Twenty20 cricket; mad hitting prevails. The shortened version of the shorter version of the game is bad for the game. The ICC should know this.

K. Pradeep,

Chennai

At any given time, a good game is a sure crowd puller irrespective of its duration. The latest version of cricket T20 is a fast paced thriller and has all the ingredients to entertain and give value for money. Though not a replacement in real terms but certainly the number of Tests to be played will be far and few in future. As variety is thespice of life so too T20 to the game of cricket.

R. Srinivasan,

Hyderabad
