New role for Juhi
JUHI BABBAR refuses to be content with just matrimony. So the lady is back to the theatre, which is where she belongs. This time round she’s going to don the role of a director. Babbar, who has created a play for CRY, said that the organisation
’s representatives had approached her to develop a street play for them. “But, over the last few months, the play evolved into a full-fledged one.” Excited at the prospect of staging it with volunteers from CRY, who will be acting for the first time, Babbar said she had to ensure that the actors got professional help. In stepped her theatre helpers and volunteers. “I think the play is a great medium to get a message across to the children,” said Babbar. Called ‘Pukar’, the play deals with issues like child abuse, child labour and illiteracy. Babbar hopes to generate as much awareness through the play as she can because for her she is doing something that she “believes in”.
