Better alternative

With reference to “Historic transition” (October 28), in striking contrast to the Nepal king’s attempts to retain sovereignty, the King of Bhutan’s decision to usher in a democratic form of government is an act of renunciation. It is heartening that the Chief Justice and the Prime Minister are working on a constitution, which will provide for a two-party system through a unique process of elimination. If it works in Bhutan it may well become a paradigm for other countries.
