Timely message

The articles on Breast cancer awareness (October 28) were timely. The message is yet to reach the masses. It is not only the responsibility of the government but also the media and healthcare organisations to educate the public at large. The government should formulate a definite protocol and proper guidelines for the management of breast cancer applicable to Indian scenario. In the present scenario, where the treatment is conflicting, it is not surprising the patient is often confused and runs from pillar to post resulting not only in delay of treatment but also resulting in the progress of the disease.

Dr. K.R. Rao,

Tiruchi
