Homecoming NRIs
With reference to “Homeward bound” (December 9), India’s robust economic growth provides a congenial condition for the NRIs to return to their home country. It’s time to show developed nations that Indians were the main source of their development and that by this reverse brain-drain of India will move from developing to developed status. Returning NRIs should also be involved in social and political activities to be role-models for future generations.

This refers to Sabeer Bhatia’s “India has a long way to go” (December 9). I agree that India should produce more entrepreneurs than employees. Imagine if everyone aspires to work as an employee; then India’s position will probably remain where it is today. But I don’t agree with his view about the Indian education system. According to me, the Indian system of education has come a long way and is not only knowledge-based but also inquiry-based.

Sabeer Bhatia has literally challenged us to be innovative in using “knowledge” and becoming ‘entrepreneurs rather than employees”. It is absolutely imperative that we become risk takers to become an “IT power” and a full fledged nation in all areas. Sharing his experiences as a risk-taker will help other Indians.
