Apropos “Stubborn assault”, the plight of the once magnificent Chalakudy in Kerala makes very sad reading. It is indeed regrettable that the highly literate people of Kerala have remained mute spectators to the wanton destruction of their rivers, lakes, and forests by the ruling elite and their cheerleaders whose only concern seems to be to make hay while the sun shines. Cry, my beloved Kerala.
