Commendable effort

With reference to “A chance to dream” (December 30), the efforts of SATHI is indeed commendable. This effort should serve as a reminder to the government, corporate houses and the people at large about the duty they owe to the society by strengthening the hands of such organisations so that children are saved from going astray.

K.R. Srinivasan,

Hyderabad

V.P. Dhananjayan writes:

With reference to Rupa Srikanth’s “Dance of a lifetime” (December 23), there are a couple of corrections I wish to point out. About our Kalakshetra days, it reads like Asan T.K.Chandu Panicker was our contemporary. Asan Chandu Panicker’s son Janardanan was a junior contemporary. Secondly, talking about the new pieces we choreographed, we introduced Nrityopahaaram in place of Varnam eschewing the naayaka-naayika Bhaava-laden songs and introduced Bhakti-oriented Pada-Varnams with narrative episodes.
