Maths and literature

The report and review of Ziya Us Salam in “Writing is a lonely process” (January 20) acquainted the reader with the work of Manil Suri. The convergence of an exact science like mathematics and literature is interestingly brought out. The writer mentioned the blending of “mundane” and “sensual”. But is not this expression a little inept? Sensuality is normally a part of the mundane. More acceptable would have been the “bringing closer of the sublime and the sensual”.
