From cinema to business

SUCHITRA BEHAL

While most Bollywood babes are content to latch on to their men, actor PREITY ZINTA has stormed the male bastion by becoming part-owner of IPL’s Mohali cricket team.

Zinta, who with boyfriend Ness Wadia, bid and won the Mohali team, said, “This is my first business venture. I’ve never before submitted a tender and the thrill of watching it materialise cannot be explained. Of course I could never be a sleeping partner in any business, I’d give everyone nightmares,” said Zinta, adding, “Can you imagine me keeping quiet?”

Talking about her beau Ness, Zinta said, “We work well together and we hope to make the IPL a successful venture.” Commenting on the fact that she was the only woman on the IPL, Zinta grinned, “Why not? Why do boys have to have all the fun? I won’t pretend to be a huge cricket buff but now I’ve no choice… I already know how to hold a bat and I even know what sixes and fours are.”
