Loss of land
This refers to “Stranded in the Sunderbans” (Febraury 24). Not only the Sunderbans, but also many cities are losing their valuable living lands. If this phenomenon continues for a century, then we will need to find another planet to live in. People need to avoid carbon energies like petrol and diesel and switch to renewable resources like solar energy and wave energy. We have to take action on a war footing to control this situation. Otherwise the future generations won’t forgive us because their lives will be cursed rather than joyful.

Correction: The photograph of Paul Theroux published along with the article “Road less travelled” (February 24) should have been credited to William Furniss and not as published. The error is regretted.
