Growing phenomenon

Malls are becoming the order of the day (“In pursuit of pleasure,” April 20). People buy everything at the mall and even go there for food, entertainment and recreation.

But the fact is that the malls are snuffing out the character of our cities which will soon start facing an identity crisis. All our malls are so monotonous that if you have seen and been to one it is like you have seen them all.

They also make our lives so mechanical. But malls will soon be passé. Man wants variety and malls seldom offer them in the true sense of the word.
