Change in attitudes

With reference to the article “Does reservation matter” by Kalpana Sharma (April 20), the author is absolutely right that there is a need for change in the societal attitude towards women . Society should encourage women to cross barriers and actively participate in every walk of life. In the matter of women’s reservation, our male counterparts are taking advantage of their numerical strength in the parliament. They are just trying to get political mileage out of this sensitive issue. The option of reservation or any affirmative action will only be fruitful when we accept that women are as efficient as men.
