Barbaric

Harsh Mander’s article on Abdulbhai and Noorie, victims of the 2002 Gujarat riots was heartbreaking. The article shed light on how worse things can get when humanity turns against itself. It was touching to know that many Hindu families had come forward to extend help to the helpless in moments of strife. It is in times like these that a figure like Oskar Schindler assumes Messiah-like status. The fact that, a government which allowed such barbarism right in front of their eyes, was re-elected to power is a shame on our collective conscience.
