TINSEL TOWN

Single and happy

Tanushree Dutta denies that she is getting married in the near future. The actor says that the rumours are nothing but gossip. “I think people are just in a hurry to get me married! As for me, I am single, happy and that’s all I need. Marriage is completely out of the question; I am not even dating anybody, have no such plans in the near future. My career is my priority right now and nothing else matters,” says Dutta.

Gimmicks Reshammiya

Himesh Reshammiya’s PR agents are now working overtime to ensure that he gets the best possible boost in the face of adverse criticism. While his critics have started pointing out how he has also been lifting tunes from other music directors, < /p>

Himesh has been trying to improve his PR with new announcements of his films and gimmicks in these movies. While he has already announced that he would be remixing “Ek Do Teen” from “Tezaab” into his new film “A New Love Ishtory”, there’s talk about Madhuri Dixit making a special appearance in the film directed by John Mathew Mathan.

Bet and ball

While “Hansie”, based on the life of disgraced South African cricketer Hansie Cronje, releases on September 24, another film called “Shoonya” by writer Anurag Kashyap and director Arindam Mitra shows no sign of release. The film is allegedly on the life of Mohammed Azharuddin and has his wife as an actor as well. Kay Kay plays the cricketer and Tulip Joshi plays his wife in the movie. Incidentally, another film, called “99”, also on betting, has just gone on the floors now and like the Emraan Hashmi starrer “Jannat”, hopes that cricket can do what normally movies aren’t able to.

Write again

Writer-director Sanjay Chhel may have been reeling from the flopping of his film “Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam”, but that hasn’t stopped him from working on his Paresh Rawal-Konkona Sen Sharma starrer “Fantastic”. Chhel, who has a book of Hindi poetry under his name, has also been writing Gujarati films and was responsible for Sanjay Dutt bagging the role of Munnabhai. “Vinod Chopra saw my film ‘Khoobsurat’ and then decided to cast him as Munnabhai,” beams Chhel at his achievement. Now to make some good films himself.

Shetty takes stock

Manmohan Shetty, the founder and promoter of Adlabs, has apparently invested in three new media ventures after coming out of Adlabs. He has reportedly invested in the company I-Rocks by Siddharth Jain and Prakash Jha’s company. Apart from this he has also invested in his daughter’s company Walk Water Media. However, Manmohan Shetty has something very interesting to say. “Well it is true that that I have invested in I-Rocks. And my daughter has started her own company called Walk Water Media. But I don’t want to talk about my business ventures at this moment,” he clams up.
