TINSEL TOWN
Suffering a “Kidnap”
Sanjay Gadhvi is baffled and upset because his film “Kidnap” finds itself at the centre of a controversy, perhaps “inspiring” the threat to kidnap Saurav Ganguly’s daughter.
Following newspaper reports that Saurav Ganguly has received threats through post that if he does not pay up Rs. two crore as advance ransom, his six-year-old daughter Sana would be kidnapped, Sanjay Gadhvi is not pleased. “This makes me terribly upset. First I have to go through all that the critics have said about the film and now people talking about my film inspiring a kidnap!” he says. It had happened earlier with “Dhoom” when bike robberies took place after the film was released.
Crowd puller
It was an action-packed audition for the Salman Khan film “Veer” when actors who went to audition for roles in the town of Bath in United Kingdom went berserk trying to see if Salman was around. They came to Little Theatre Cinema at St. Michael’s Place hoping to catch a glimpse of Salman who was shooting a few kilometres away for “London Dreams” with Asin and Ajay Devgan. “The local authorities had a tough time controlling the crowds,” say sources from the sets. The small theatre was housing the auditions where people from many nationalities were invited to audition.
No yoga for Karisma
Karisma Kapoor looked as good as ever when we met her on the sets of “Nach Baliye 4”. But she says there is no fitness regime behind the looks.
“For me it’s more about running around my daughter. I don’t do yoga,” she says. The star agrees that she is fitness conscious though and eating right is an important part of fitness. “Both of us, Kareena and I, are fitness conscious,” she says. “There is nothing like size zero. Kareena eats healthy food and eats well. And she does yoga too,” she explains.
Short-cuts for Sonam
Anil Kapoor is packing the shoot of his second production “Shortkut” quickly, as he wants his daughter to get a good break, though she is working in “Dilli 6” now after working in the flop “Saawariya”.
A source says, “‘Shortkut’ is very important to him. But his daughter is certainly more important. So he is packing up ‘Shortkut’ fast so that he has more time for Sonam’s film.” Apparently Anil has zeroed in on Jane Austen’s Emma as the story for Sonam’s next film.
Still together
Arshad Warsi is refuting rumours that he and his wife Maria Goretti have split. “Believe me, everything is very fine at home. We are a family and all these are just rumours,” says the man who has indeed been too busy to give time to his family.
“I know I should be spending more time with my family but currently work is taking precedence. There is too much to complete and I need to finish all these assignments,” he adds.
