TINSEL TOWN
Asin’s attitude
Some guests of producer-director Vipul Shah told him about Asin’s starry tantrums on the sets of “London Dreams”. We are not sure what exactly took place, but these men had a problem with the way Asin behaved with them on the sets of the movie.
Well, Asin is a girl who keeps aloof on the sets all the time and that perhaps has upset these guys who were expecting to be entertained by the heroine of the film starring Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
Hopes dashed
The release of Nagesh Kukunoor directed “Aashayein” has been postponed for a long time now. The film was made by Nagesh Kukunoor a while ago, but hasn’t been finding buyers, we are told, basically because of the way the film was made with a mainstream actor. After a flop like “No Smoking”, which was a on an offbeat subject, it is very difficult for someone like John too to salvage the career of any other filmmaker.
No picture perfect
Talking of Nagesh Kukunoor, it’s not easy for any maker to deliver a quality product when the schedules are erratic and when they get cancelled.
As a result, Akshay Kumar hasn’t been co-operating with Nagesh Kukunoor in the making of the film “8x10” a.k.a “Tasveer”, he is not happy with the filming and the shot taking which he thinks is not commercial enough. The producers are still trying to convince Akshay to relent.
Creative tussles
Sometimes a husband and wife can get along fabulously on the sets of a film, but sometimes there may be issues.
And that’s what happening at times with director Leena Yadav and her cinematographer husband Aseem Bajaj on the sets of the Amitabh Bachchan film “Teen Patti”. The two had made the Aishwarya-Sanjay Dutt starrer “Shabd” before on marital problems and fought there too.
Maybe these fights are merely creative ones and we are reading too much in between the lines.
Voice over
Talking of Akshay, the man seems to be getting paid as per his will. The fact being that the actor has got Rs. 9 crore for an elephant-based animation film called “Jumbo” which is an animation film and for which he has only dubbed with his voice and that too for not more than three days. Akshay Kumar is one man whose voice very squeaky and not easily recognisable too. The man with the best baritone, Amitabh Bachchan, charges less than one third that price to dub.
