Yoga WEAR: It’s different.
Fashion may not be the first thing that you relate with your daily exercise or draining workouts, but what you wear while exercising is as important as the exercise itself. Nothing interrupts an exercise more than uncomfortable clothing.
Gone are the days of loose, worn out exercise apparels. Today, fitness is the topmost and with brands coming up with stylish fitness apparels, you can make your hours of sweat look glamorous just by indulging in this newest trend.
Believe me, looking good is a huge incentive to exercise!
Shorts
Well, that’s the most desired piece while exercising. Reebok running shorts, Nike pastel shorts are apt for simple brisk walk or rigorous jogging. “Exercise demands whole lot of comfort and shorts in pastels and sleek cuts can play magic. You might not be happy with your fitness regimen but nice workout attire can boost confidence. Looking smart makes exercise fun. I believe wearing a fashionable workout outfit means you are conscious of fitness and are taking it seriously,” suggests fashion designer Ranna Gill. Remember not to wear shorts for cardio exercises like running or walking. That can be a big turn off!
Yoga wear
This true Indian exercise has zoomed in popularity like never before. From designers like Donna Karan to brands like Nike, everyone offers yoga fashion. But what’s important is to know that the apparel section for this exercise is altogether different. Gym t-shirts and jogging shorts are a complete no-no when it comes to yoga. Listen to designer Rohit Bal to know more. “Camisole tops, little straps, halters, sleeveless body form tops are apt for yoga.
Fabric is an integral part of yoga fashion wear. Since the body stretches in various poses, flexible, body hugging, stretchable apparels and fabrics that breathe well are the best option. Also, the exercise is for the early morning, so bright colours add that zing and the exercise should be more enjoyable.” For the bottoms, go for Adidas or Lacoste drawstring pants either in three fourth or full lengths. Boot cut pants that are snug at the knee and leave your ankles free are a good option.
Tees and tops
They have been here for a while but have undergone a sweeping makeover in terms of styles. T-shirts and simple short tops are generally best suited for the gym. Many brands believe it to be the top selling piece in the fitness clothing. “The gym routine is strenuous so a trendy t-shirt or simple top can be very comfortable,” says celebrity Amaan Ali who hits the gym regularly. He adds, “A t-shirt, whether sleeveless or with sleeves, is available in any number of colours and can be easily combined with shorts or full pants. That’s a classic style in workout clothing.”
Fabrics and colours
Be choosy while going for workout attires. “The fabric can be lycra, moisture wicking that dries quickly, cotton blends or simple knits. Create an individualism in your exercise fashion by opting for unconventional feminine colours, like fuchsia, light yellow, or simple neutrals,” advises designer Hemant Sagar.
With such a variety ready to build up your confidence, you will actually want to exercise daily with a smile on your face. So, go ahead and pamper your passion with some new exercise fashions.
Workout apparel is appealing to the eco-conscious. Bamboo, hemp, recycled coconut shells, natural rubber and soybean oil-based fibres are more and more making their way into fitness clothes and accessories.
Footwear
That’s an area that can’t be ignored. Your footwear while exercising has a direct connection to your energy level. Wrong or worn out footwear can easily exhaust you. When selecting footwear for your workout the most important thing is to have a good air circulation, which means footwear that breathes well. After all, happy feet is all that matters!
