We have shifted... C.P. to Greater Noida
CONNAUGHT PLACE in Greater Noida! Don't worry nobody is shifting your favourite eating and shopping, it is just being duplicated out of envy by Omaxe Construction Limited. "The fact that Englishmen constructed the marvel for their wives and Indians were not allowed to even have a glimpse was in my heart for long so when I got the opportunity and a team to realise my dream I decided to build a replica in Greater Noida," says Rohtash Goel, Managing Director, Omaxe Construction Limited.
Goel is not averse to foreigners shopping in Indian Connaught Place. "Greater Noida is chosen because it is close to Taj Express Highway and hence ideal to woo the foreigners on a trip to the Golden Triangle as well as the populace of western U.P."
According to him this is North India's largest integrated development programme with built up area of over 1.40 million square feet. "We are offering a hypermarket with departmental and lifestyle superstores, brand showrooms, an amphitheatre, an eight-screen multiplex, a luxury hotel, speciality restaurants and a water park for family entertainment. People will traverse through battery operated cars to minimise pollution and maximise comfort."
Rajeev Dayal, General Manager, Retail Marketing and Business Development, informs that Omaxe appointed Cushman and Wakefield India to carry out a feasibility of the project and the study reveals that Greater Noida is expected to form the largest catchment for organised retail in National Capital Region in times to come. "We will give the space on rent to renowned brands like Pantaloon," says Dayal. With an estimated cost of Rs.500 crore, Goel promises to complete his Connaught Place by 2006-07.
Now CP will no more suffice as a complete address but then shopping is all about options.
