Hat-trick hero?

IT HAS been the year of Vikram, two super hits "Dhool" and "Saamy" which catapulted him to superstardom. Now the big question in the trade is will his Diwali release "Pitamagan" make him a hat trick hero?

Vikram says, "Pitamagan" is different from all the films I have done till date. He plays the role of a Vettiyan (undertaker) in a village, a rough and grotesque-looking character who shares a buddy-buddy relationship with his friend played by Surya. "The strength of the film lies in the characterisation and no film has delved into the life of an undertaker after "Harichandra"," he adds. However, he plans to take a sabbatical after the release and has not signed any new project. He says, "In Indian cinema, there are only limited roles that one can play and I have decided to wait till I find a script that excites me." Meanwhile, he wants to relax, something he has not been able to do for the past two years.
