Anti-climax!

IT WAS a coming together of sorts! The hitherto hit scriptwriter pair Salim-Javed worked independently for Baghban, each not knowing that the other was also penning the lines for its finale. Both, it is believed, wrote the dialogues on request. Albeit, just for one scene, the two, who have given us powerful dialogues in such blockbusters as Sholay, Andaaz, and Seeta Aur Geeta, took up the tearjerker climax involving Salman Khan and Amitabh. Replete with philosophy and practical truths of life, the writers' dialogues were penned at the instance of Amitabh, who wanted his lines from Javed Akhtar, and Salman, who wanted them from papa Salim Khan. But finally, it was director Ravi Chopra who called the shots. Some climax, this!
