Brides' groom tales...

ASPIRING FOR the significant looks to look at the significant other on the momentous occasion, make over artist Meenakshi Dutt has an advice for you, start early. "Girls wake up too late. They should start at least six months before the wedding day. Avoid moving out in sun. Go for regular skin care sessions if dark circles and pimples are troubling you and start taking calcium and multi vitamin tablets for better skin tone and nails," says Meenakshi, who entered this field after a successful stint as a model.

"The real problem is work related strain and lifestyle. Junk food, liquor and late nights all lead to skin related problems, she adds.

According to Meenakshi that days of heavy make up are over. "Brides want to appear traditional without being over decked. I prefer to give the bride a prominent, outstanding look rather than a stand-alone look. Kohl is in vogue these days to make the eyes look prominent. Light colour mascara adds to the beauty. If the bride has a round face we puff up her hair and if the face is a bit long we keep the tresses back."

Meenakshi, who runs a studio in Vasant Kunj, feels decking up common girls is far more challenging than sprucing the models as they have perfect faces for the glamour medium.

And what about the selection of items for the vanity bag considering huge price tags.

"I will advise to have ten quality creams and powders in your kit rather than having a number of inferior cosmetic items."
