Advantage Ajit

IT'S BEING touted as Tamil cinema's biggest Deepavali battle as Ajit's "Anjaneya", Vikram's "Pitamagan" and Vijay's "Tirumalai" clash this Friday at the box-office. In the trade circles Ajit's "Anjaneya" is considered a front-runner, as it is his first release after the superhit "Villain" released last Deepavali. Though the actor has been concentrating on the racetrack for the past one year, he has also been working round the clock to complete "Anjaneya" in 47 days and trying to play down the hype. There was no big splash for the audio launch and the teaser trailer of the film is yet to appear on the channels! Said Ajit: "I do not want to take part in the battle of hype. All I can say is that "Anjaneya" is releasing for Deepavali and it is celebration time!" It is for the first time that he plays a cop and the film is directed by Maharajan who had earlier done successful police stories with Sunny Deol and Vijaykanth. Meera Jasmine provides glamour. However on Deepavali day, Ajit will be in Beijing for the final race of the Formula BMW Asia Championship-2003.
