Late night comedies

WHY DO regional channels telecast so many comedy shows at odd hours? Take a look — Comedy Time (Sun), Take It Easy (Raj), Timekku Comedy (Jaya), Comedy Show (Asianet) and Comedy Time (Surya), all are telecast after 10 p.m. According to an executive of an ad agency: "It indicates the sleep pattern of the southern audience, who are early to bed and prefer to watch soaps and film-based programmes before 10 p.m. In the North, prime time soaps are telecast after 10 p.m. as the viewers prefer late night entertainment."
