Indiscriminate parking

THE VEHICULAR population in Coimbatore is increasing day by day. The city has one of the highest vehicle densities in the State. Thanks to this growth, the number of garages has also increased.

Many garages undertake repairs with their `office' in the car shed and the roads as work spots.

Vehicles are parked on either side, blocking a major portion of the road including the footpath. The worst example is Tatabad.

Likewise, the second-hand two wheeler shops in Sastri Road, Ramnagar also block both sides of the road

One can find hundreds of second hand two wheelers on some of these roads.

Rows of taxis and omnibuses are parked on the Sivasami Road, Ramnagar, Kalingarayan Road and Sengupta Road right from the evening till midnight.

The pedestrians and vehicle drivers find it extremely difficult to pass through these roads.
