Food festivals

Some irony this

EVERY RELIGION has its own festivals. It is a social get-together promoting emotional integration and social harmony. Farmers in the delta are facing severe drought, what with the successive failure of monsoons creating unprecedented water shortage for their crops. Naturally, this has had a chain of adverse effects on the economy. Sadly, even the Government's free noon-meal schemes have been ridden with problems. The situation calls for a comprehensive strategy to be drawn up by the authorities concerned. When farmers are in such a distress, is it possible to have fun at food festivals?
