Take three

The article about the Chennai International Festival (Scenes from Norway, December 2) had the following errors in a paragraph about Norwegian films more, specifically about Liv Ullman.

1. "Sophie's World" is written by Jostein Gaarder. The film is directed by Erik Gustavson — it talks about Sophie meeting philosophers of yore — but its Socrates who drinks hemlock not Sophocles.

2. "Sophie's Choice" is the book written by William Styron. Starring Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep, the film was not directed by Liv Ullman, but by Alan Pakula.

3. The closest Liv Ullman comes in this is a movie called "Sofie" about a Jewish girl called Sofie.
