SRIKANTH IS a rising young star in the Tamil tinsel world after his last two releases, "April Madhathil" and "Parthipan Kanavu" did well at the box-office. Now he is all set to shed his lover boy image with "Joot - Are You Ready", directed by Azhagamperumal, releasing in December. Srikanth is excited about the film where he plays an action hero for the first time — a villager who comes to the city and has to fight some goons. However, Srikanth does not want the film to be dismissed as just another `mass' film. He says: "I waited for the right subject to come my way as far as action films go. It will surely satisfy the audience as the film has sentiment, romance, comedy, action and good music by Vidyasagar." Srikanth is paired with Meera Jasmine and the audio is already topping the charts.
