International acclaim

THE MUCH acclaimed Malayalam director Shyamaprasad whose debut film, Agnisakshi, won him national honours as well as Gollapudi Srinivas national award for debutant director, is joining the select band of Indian filmmakers setting their sights on Hollywood. He has just completed work on his third film, this time in English — Bokshu-The Myth based on Ganga Prasad Vimal's famous novel, Mrigantak.

He says the novel forms just the basis for the film and he, Shashi Warrier and Richard Stanley, wrote the script after a year's research. An adventure film, it has mystery, action, and humour. The film was extensively shot in Kedarnath, Hampi, Mysore, Bangalore and the U.S.A. A talented team of artistes and technicians supported Shyamaprasad.
