FROM "START-2-FINISH", it's a starters and desserts festival at Cappuccino, the coffee shop at Hotel Park Sheraton and Towers, TTK Road.

Every meal has a beginning and an end, but some have nothing in between. This European concept of having restaurants that serve only starters and desserts is now being introduced in the city. The sumptuous variety can make a complete meal without being too heavy on the stomach or pocket. So, you can choose from international delicacies such as Moroccan Lamb Brioutes, American Lobster and Mango Salad, Trinidad Tuna Salad, Poached Oyster with Horseradish Mayo, Spanish Tapas of Almonds, Cheese and Olives, Italian Risoto Fritters stuffed with nuggets of mozzarella, Greek Yoghurt and Fig Tart, Lebanese Trio — 25 starters and 10 desserts in all.

The festival is on from January 16 to 25. The a la carte service is available for lunch and dinner. For details, contact 24994101.

Pongal fare

At Chola Sheraton, Chef Javvaji has cooked up a traditional fare from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Savour such delicacies as venpongal, milagu pongal, chakkara pongal, kalkandu pongal, keerai/cauliflower/cabbage vadai, sundal and kalsakoora. The desserts include kozhukattai, rava ladoo and pal payasam.
