A look back at 2003

OFFERING A kaleidoscope of events that hogged the headlines in the year gone by is India Book of the Year 2004.

The 400-plus pages of the book takes a look at events — from the attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to Aishwarya Rai making an appearance at Cannes.

The illustrated book, a collective offering from the Encyclopaedia Britannica and The Hindu group, also gives analysis and behind-the-scenes stories of the major events. Designed after Encyclopaedia Britannica, this book is exclusive to India. The book has been divided into four sections. The first section offers a day-to-day calendar of events, followed by data that places events in contexts. The second section is a look at the newsmakers of the year, while the third discusses the significant events of the year, which comes with special reports and analysis.

The last section provides data on all the States and Union Territories of India, besides the nations of the world. India Book of the Year 2004 is priced at Rs. 295.00.
