Cop's saga

Lakshmi Narasimha
(Telugu)
Cast: Balakrishna, Asin,
Prakashraj
Music: Manisharma
Direction: Jayanth
Producer: Bellamkonda Suresh

BALAKRISHNA PUTS in a good performance in the role of an honest police officer.

The film, a remake of the Tamil `Sami' shows Dharmabiksham (Ahuti Prasad) as a beggar on the steps of a temple. He was also a don at one time.

When the DCP takes some money from him, there is a hue and cry from everyone including his lover Rukmini (Asin), who breaks off her relationship.

The motive behind the DCP's action is told in a flashback. Rukmini returns to the DCP, when she knows that the money taken by her lover was meant to be used for the welfare of the victims who were terrorised by Dharmabiksham.

Balakrishna gives a responsible performance and tries to look and act different. Director Jayanth stretches the film beyond reason - more than three hours. Prakashraj proves yet again that he can play a `bad' character and be humorous too. He shares equal number of scenes with the hero.

The loud comedy track is a drag though. Asin as Rukmini is not able to assert her position. Music lacks melody . Dialogue and photography are mediocre.
