Make learning a fun
"Education is a pleasure not a pressure," was the theme of the presentation that was rendered by the noted novelist Yendamoori Veerandranath, who was here recently to lecture the students of Avanthi Engineering College on communication skills.
Briefing the press after the three-day presentation, he said, " Rural students are better than urbanites but they lack communication skills. The basic intention of this seminar is to enable them to shed their inhibitions and come out with flying colours."
The correspondent of the college, M. Srinivasa Rao, informed the press that the main reason for starting an engineering college on the outskirts is to benefit the rural students. Veerandranth, who was very critical of parental guidance, said, " It is the duty of the parents to see that their wards come out of their shell and guide them the right way. Today the parents are busy applying pressures rather than encouraging the children to take up the right course, which they can handle. It's a rare sight to see a student of intermediate or engineering, smile, and the reason behind is pressure by the parents, peers and teachers. He also stressed that students should overcome the `fear of failure' factor."
