Eating out: fun or fad?

Victual visions

I THINK most of us remember our childhood days when we would pester our dads for an ice cream. Many college students have a particular chat-bhandar where they eat after their exams. It is not the taste we enjoyed then, but it was the happiness of accomplishing a task, which made eat-outs so special. We always remain nostalgic about such events and places.

Today, when most are busy with their jobs, it comes as a relief when we plan to eat out with friends. Pani puris and Punjabi dhabas are being replaced by pizza delis but doing anything other than the routine is what makes eat-outs an essential part of our lives. Delicacies, which are difficult to cook can be comfortably relished, thanks to them. Happiness is being able to spend with our near and dear ones, and what better than to spend it on food. Eat-outs are definitely fun.
