Eating out: fun or fad?

Cuisines galore

THE TWIN cities are seeing a boom in the restaurant scene with the opening of new places catering to a wide range of tastes from the traditional Andhra cuisine to exotic fare from the Far East, Lebanese, Mexican and Italian kitchens.Dining in a restaurant helps children learn the finer aspects of behaviour in public places and table manners. Coffee shops offer lavish breakfasts at affordable prices and these are the right places for families to spend time together on a Sunday morning, while the lady of the house gets a respite from the monotony of cooking.

Eating out becomes a fad when a person frequently dines at places which do not have anything great to offer in terms of quality but can only boast a flashy menu card, highly priced dishes, a weird ambience and a claim to celebrity patronage.
