THE FUTURE IS HERE: J.B. Malik sees better days ahead for Congress.
WITH THE General Elections just round the corner, political pundits and psephologists would soon be busy trying to make the right calculations to predict the right outcome. But even before the election fever actually grips the country, there is already some good news for the Congress party from astrologer J.B. Malik.
Malik, who studies the horoscopes of our administrators and claims to have an in-depth knowledge of the neta brand of politics, says, "Congress will win by a slender margin. It will get the first chance to form the government. Those in contention for the Prime Minister's post would be Sharad Pawar, Arjun Singh and Manmohan Singh. Mayawati would lend support from outside."
Before one could overcome a sense of disbelief , considering opinion polls are predicting the NDA-led alliance as the favourites, he reels out, "Sonia Gandhi's nod would be crucial. If on account of intransigence of allies no understanding over PM is reached then NDA would be invited."
Adds he, "Sonia would be plagued by ill-health after May 2006 if her Aquarius ascendant horoscope is correct." To show irrefutable evidence that his predictions are prophetic Malik shows newspaper clippings.
Though he says there will be a downturn in criminalisation in Indian politics he warns that in the year 2007 "either through a mighty tremor or some other natural occurrence lakhs of houses would be reduced to a rubble."
Features are an important attribute in judging a person's character, says Malik adding that people with thin lips, a pointed nose and small eyes are diabolical and vindictive. To illustrate a classic case, he names the President of the United States, George Bush. "Bush would be dangerous not only to himself but to humankind."
He sees a further cordiality of relations between India and Pakistan. "The political climate will see a gradual rise in economic co-operation between the two nations. Moreover, the hawks on both sides of the divide will become inconsequential. Both the nations would relinquish their part of Kashmir, which will become a buffer state under the aegis of UN." As for Pakistan's President, Pervez Musharraf, "treachery would be committed against him by someone in the echelons of powers in Pakistan."
