In a new role

CHERAN, A director who made socially relevant middle-of-the-road films such as "Bharathi Kannamma" and `Porkalam", turned hero with Thankar Bachchan's "Solla Marantha Kathai". And now, he has turned producer with "Autograph' where he is not only directing but also playing the lead role. In the film, he goes down memory lane telling the story of a boy turning into a man and his experiences in life. To play the lead role, Cheran has gone for a `new look' by shedding weight and sporting a crew cut to look younger. Gopika from Kerala plays heroine and Sneha appears in a cameo. The music is by Bharadwaj and Cheran hopes that "Autograph" will pave his way to stardom.
