"Malliswari" mania

EVEN AFTER the "Boom" debacle, Suresh Productions was willing to pay Katrina Kaif Rs. 75 lakhs to play heroine in Telugu film "Malliswari" opposite Venkatesh. It is the highest sum ever paid to any actress down South, but it has created a "Malliswari" mania as tickets are sold out for the first three days in Andhra Pradesh and Chennai. Katrina Kaif plays Princess Malliswari, daughter of a rich `zamindar', who sets out in search of a peaceful, carefree life. She meets an ordinary bank employee played by Venkatesh who helps her achieve her goal, but not before they fall in love! The songs, tuned by Koti, are chartbusters and have been picturised on a lavish scale by director Vijay Bhaskar.
