"Education is not the mere attaining of marks and becoming professionals but becoming good human beings," said Swamy Paratmananda of Ramakrishna Mission, who participated as the guest of honour at `Scintillations - 2004' organised by Pravan Public School at Kalabharati Auditorium last week.

He said "Education is complete only when character is formed, strength of mind is increased and when there is growth in the intellect and attaining strength of independence".

Police Commissioner, B. Prasada Rao, who participated as chief guest, lauded the school for giving emphasis on promoting traditional values apart from imparting education through modern methods of teaching. The school principal, Y. Vani Prabhakar, felt that teachers and parents should inspire children with their own experiences so that they turn out to be better citizens of tomorrow.

The students impressed the gathering with a dance drama, `Girija kalyanam', an English skit and a mime show `Manava sevaye Madhava seva'.
