Travel quiz
IF YOU enjoy travelling, then this quiz is for you. The Witco Travel and Leisure Quiz 2004 is to be held on February 29, 4 p.m., at Museum Theatre, Egmore.
The event is a fundraiser for Oxfam India, an NGO that helps the underprivileged. "Oxfam has worked with the quake victims of Gujarat and has established Nav Jeevan Kendra, a health and rehabilitation centre in Nagalpar for them," says Marie Banu of Oxfam. Witco, a name associated with travel accessories, is sponsoring the quiz.
Teams of two can participate in this open quiz. A written preliminary round will be followed by the finals with seven rounds of audio, visual and direct questions. The questions will be general. The quizmasters are Ravi Subramanian and Diwakar Pingle.
The winning team will get a free trip to Sri Lanka. There are prizes for the six finalists, besides audience prizes.
One can register at the Witco outlets, Oxfam India (98840 71217) or at the venue on the day of the quiz before 3.30 p.m. The registration fee is Rs. 500 and one gets two gift coupons worth Rs. 100 from Witco. The registration fee will be donated to Oxfam India. "The quiz will cover a gamut of topics, including those pertaining to Chennai," says quizmaster Ravi.
