HE MAY have failed to live to up to the big hopes, but Vivek Mushran is happy with what he has got on the smaller medium. Continuing his association with Star, which started with the popular series, "Sonpari", he will be seen again, this time as Yash in "Koie Jane Na" starting this coming Sunday.

Promoted as a chiller, a hybrid of thriller with chills, Vivek says the serial will portray him has a brash guy for the first time in his career. "I am bored of my fair, smiling boy image. Here I am playing an arrogant boy who hates the principles of his grandfather."

Reflecting on his journey that started from Allahabad, had a glittering halt at "Saudagar" but derailed after that, Vivek feels he has matured as an actor. "Television has helped me a lot. Had it not been there then I would have to do some serious thinking. Also I started early so I had time to ponder. Many of my juniors are of my age group."

Vivek is also taking his new foray into pop singing seriously. Already one album old, he is soon coming up with a remix album. "I took basic training in music as you don't need much effort to sing pop." Vivek believes in the anti-remix theory but "practical demands of the market" is forcing him to try this genre. "Companies want remix as they are popular with the young. And one has to concede that some old numbers have really been nicely redone." However, he is not ready to part with the songs he is tampering with. "There is a crunch of remix friendly songs. If I tell you there is a possibility that some other company might release the song first."

On Bollywood front, Vivek is ready to cross over to the latest fad of small-budget cinema. "The industry has grown enormously from the time I joined. Now there is some place for everybody. I am looking for serious small budget films."
