Chennai-ites wished cricketer Hemang Badani the best of luck as he heads for Pakistan
|
"YEH DIL Hemaange more! Aha!" reads a poster with the picture of Hemang Badani in action perhaps a well thought-out motivational line for Chennai's very own cricketer. In chequered shirt and blue jeans sans his heavy cricket gear, Badani is in full swing, signing away autographs at the World of Titan showroom in Anna Nagar. Surrounded by zooming cameras and non-stop flashes, the visibly conscious cricketer is presented with a good luck bat by his fans.
Filled with signatures from fans who had visited the showroom during the past few days, the bat (read a symbol of appreciation and good wishes) is supposed to bring him luck, although he confesses that he will never be able to bat with it.
The initiative was taken by the World of Titan in an attempt to encourage the Indian cricket team and Badani, in particular, in their tour to Pakistan. "I did not expect such a response from my fans. This is overwhelming and inspiring," says Badani, as he signs another miniature bat.
Promising to take this good luck bat to Pakistan, he says, "This is a rather historic match as the Indian team is touring Pakistan after almost 14 years and I am proud to be part of it. Considering that this match is going to be my first against that country, it is all the more exciting and I am hoping to do my best."
